Bring your kids to Victoria Harbour and Docklands this spring
Our motto when it comes to school holidays? The more planned activities the better. If you’re looking for ways to keep the kids entertained these spring school holidays (and even have them learn a few skills), here’s what’s happening in Victoria Harbour and the wider Docklands precinct from 22 September until 7 October:
Crafty Dragons at Community Hub, Library at the Dock
Kids aged 4 – 12 can attend a free workshop to create their own amazing dragon. With multiple craft options and even a slime station, this hands-on event will get their creative minds working through play and imagination.
When: 25 September, 10.30am – 12pm
Where: Community Hub, 107 Victoria Harbour Promenade, Docklands
Craft Bonanza at Library at the Dock
Draw, paint and create at Library at the Dock these school holidays. Suitable for all ages, this free event will let your child’s creativity shine through. And don’t forget to borrow some books on your way out!
When: 1 October, 10.30am – 12pm
Where: 107 Victoria Harbour Promenade, Docklands
Head down to ArtVo for an immersive art experience. The first of its kind in Australia, this sensory, ‘trick art’ extravaganza contains over 100 3D artworks and over 11 themed zones to explore. Bring the whole family down and become part of the large-scale art installations and illusions.
Where: 26 Star Crescent, Level 1, The District, Docklands
Little Chefs at Four Points by Sheraton
Mum and Dad can sit back and relax; it’s time to let the kids do the cooking. Master Pastry Chef Ronald and his team at Four Points by Sheraton will host an introductory two-hour cooking workshop for young and aspiring chefs. Children will learn how to make pizzas and bake and decorate cupcakes.
This is a ticketed event across multiple dates.
Where: 443 Docklands Drive, Docklands
Playground hopping in Victoria Harbour
Sometimes you just need to let kids run and burn some energy in the sunshine. Come down and explore Buluk Park’s playground and visit Library at The Dock next door. Follow it up with a wander around Victoria Harbour to discover all the other green spaces and playgrounds including Docklands Park and Docklands Community Garden.
Afterwards, grab lunch or a snack in one of the precinct’s many restaurants. A Street Kitchen Co burger or milkshake is always a great school holiday treat, or pick up some ice cream sandwiches from our local chocolatier, Kep Whitley.
