Key Information
“Across the two days approximately 6,500 building and boat tours were completed within Victoria Harbour...This showed a genuine interest in Melbourne’s premier waterfront neighbourhood.”
Over 720 curious Melburnians descended on Victoria Harbour to visit two of Lend Leases ground-breaking sustainable developments as part of the popular Open House Melbourne event held on 27 and 28 July.

Visitors were given the opportunity to step inside Forté, the award winning timber apartment building and Lifestyle Working Collins Street, the new and innovative commercial strata building.

Both buildings were open from 10am to 4pm on the Sunday with guided tours, which were booked to capacity, departing every 15 minutes.

111 buildings took part in the annual and free Open House event across Melbourne over the weekend.  Other Victoria Harbour buildings included in the program were Aurecon Centre and the NAB building, with Port of Melbourne running boat tours.

Claire Johnston, Project Director of Victoria Harbour said the precinct, which has a 6 Star Green Star rating of green buildings in Australia, proved a popular drawcard over the weekend.

“Across the two days approximately 6,500 building and boat tours were completed within Victoria Harbour. The feedback received from tour participants was very positive with many people planning their day specifically to visit the buildings within Victoria Harbour. This showed a genuine interest in Melbourne’s premier waterfront neighbourhood.”

Forté, which has been built using the revolutionary building material called Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), drew large and suitably impressed crowds. The tour took in the lobby, a display apartment and the roof top deck with views over the Docklands Community Garden.

The wider Melbourne community were also given the opportunity to see Victoria Harbour’s newest commercial building. Designed principally for small to medium enterprises, Lifestyle Working Collins Street is an innovative and sustainable strata building consisting of 137 individual suites. This next generation building takes energy and space efficiencies to a whole new level offering solar lots that can be brought by tenants to power their individual office spaces.
