From local cafes, to the great outdoors, we’ve put together a list of places to study or work in Victoria Harbour.
Library at The Dock
With over 200,000 books, central heating and breathtaking views of the harbour, Library at The Dock is a wonderful place to work or study. It’s a quiet spot full of breakout areas where you can plug your laptop in, connect to the free Wi-Fi and work on your project while watching boats pass by. Best of all, Library at The Dock has an in-house social enterprise café, so you don’t even have to leave the building to get your daily dose of caffeine.
If you prefer to work with the gentle buzz of people going about their days, then perhaps Billy Barista is the place for you. While the coffee is strong, the Wi-Fi is stronger, and there are several convenient power-point plugs to ensure your device stays charged throughout the day. But what we really love about Billy Barista is the diversity of spaces to work. You can study from a high bench overlooking the street or on one of the outside tables for a dose of Vitamin D. Billy Barista is also open on Saturday and Sunday, which means you can work or study from their café on the weekend too.
A Local Park
Studies show that taking your work outside can reduce stress while making you feel more centred. Here in Victoria Harbour, we are lucky to be surrounded by beautiful parks and waterways where you can re-connect with nature. Buluk Park’s wide picnic tables are almost purpose built for working outdoors with plenty of surface area to place all your stationary and belongings. Library at The Dock’s amenities are close by and if a 3pm sugar craving strikes, you can pop into Kep Whitley for a hot chocolate or sweet treat.
