Melbourne International Film Festival comes to Park Cinema

Rally your family and friends because Park Cinema, Victoria Harbour’s premier outdoor summer event, has returned to Buluk Park for 2019!

And this year, we’ve partnered with Melbourne International Film Festival for a screening of the highly anticipated film, Pick of the Litter, on Saturday 9 March.

The first three films in our February line-up sold out in record time, so make sure you book in early to secure your free tickets.

Friday 8 February 2019 – Labyrinth
A cult classic starring David Bowie, Labyrinthis about a teenager who resents her sibling and secretly wishes he would disappear. Miraculously, her dream comes true when a goblin kidnaps him. Riddled with guilt, Sarah goes on a mission to find her baby brother and bring him home. But the rescue is more challenging than originally expected. (SOLD OUT)



Friday 15 February 2019 – My Best Friend’s Wedding
With a dynamite cast of Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz and Dermot Mulroney, My Best Friend’s Wedding is the ultimate chick flick. When Michael calls Julianne to tell her he is getting married, she realises that she has loved him since they were teenagers. She does everything she can to break up their engagement, but eventually her antics begin to work against her.

Saturday 23 February 2019 – Bride and Prejudice
If you’re looking for something fun and upbeat to enjoy on a warm summer night, you can’t go past Bride and Prejudice! The Bollywood-style adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel is full of drama and musical glee. Mrs Bakashi is eager to find a suitable partner for her unmarried daughters. But as headstrong women adverse to their mother’s matchmaking, this turns out to be a romantic disaster.

A special return screening from the 2018 Melbourne International Film Festival programme – Pick of the Litter.

A vivid, heart-warming portrait of the people, personalities and puppies who work together to create the most remarkable of human–canine relationships: guide dogs.

Follow five puppies from the moment they’re born, through their various foster families and right up until a select few of them are paired with hopeful new owners. It’s a testament to determination, hope and straight-up puppy love.

If you’re after the perfect sharing platter to compliment your Park Cinema picnic experience, pre-order a Saluministi Antipasto Box for $30. It’s filled with their famous Italian delicacies including stone baked ciabatta, buffalo mozzarella, marinated artichokes, and cacciatore salami.

The meal packs will be ready for pick-up at 7pm sharp and must be pre-ordered and paid for by calling the Saluministi Victoria Harbour store on 9088 2999.

On the night, our resident chocolatier Kep Whitley will be serving her house-made ice cream pops for $5. There’ll be a delicious range of flavours including coconut mango white chocolate, salted caramelised white chocolate with cocoa nib, and vegan dark choc and almond.

We’ve also organised a dedicated drop off point for Uber Eats and other food delivery services so you can buy local and have your snacks delivered straight to your Park Cinema spot on the grass.
