Come and join us for morning tea and see our new Chinese books at Library at The Dock. Meet other readers, have a chat and find some new Chinese books, magazines or DVDs to borrow.

Second Tuesday Reading Circle at Library at The Dock
Share your love of reading with us and discover some great reads.
Unlike a book club, a reading circle does not set a book to read. Each person discusses what they are currently reading or a book that has changed their life. Whether a good novel, a collection of poetry, your favourite play or a biography, however you reacted to it, we want to hear about it!

Docklands History Group
Travel back in time with local historians, collectors, guest speakers and meet other like-minded people at our monthly Docklands History Group. Share a cuppa and stories with other local history enthusiasts and learn about the people, places and industries from times gone by. Everyone welcome.
- 22 January - Join Daniel Wilksch, Coordinator, Digital Projects at Public Record Office Victoria for an Online Archival Research workshop and learn how to make the online search easier when tackling research questions.
- 26 February - Special Guest archaeologist Gary Vines joins us as we discover the unemployed and homeless tip-dwellers of Dudley Flats.
- 26 March - Explore the history of the Docklands railyards with Ian Jenkin, Vice President of the Australian Railway Historical Society Victoria.

ALGA Queer Flicks program
A screening of ‘Homosexuality: a film for discussion’(1975).
Prof Barb Creed and Peter McEwan will discuss the importance of this film which was taken into schools during the mid-1970s as part of educational talks by queer liberation.

Join us for a very special storytime to celebrate Midsumma.Stories, songs, crafts, games and rainbows.

SPAN: Summer shows and screenings, curated by The Food Court artist-run-initiative.
The Food Court is an exhibition and arts project space for emerging and established artists, located in the Docklands in an abandoned Food Court across the water from Library at The Dock. The Food Court is supported by the Renew Australia project and Docklands Spaces.

My little Melbourne Girl: Exploring the love letters of Lillie Duncan Multimedia exhibition bringing to life a collection of love letters written by sailors in the 1920s to a local Melbourne resident. A Mission to Seafarers (Victoria) exhibition in partnership with Melbourne Library Service.

KIDS & TEENS:
Geocaching for kids
This program will focus on Geocaching, the skill of orienteering with GPS. There will be a chance to explore the science behind GPS, and a practical session where participants will use their new learnt skills to save the Library at the Dock.
Participants will need to bring a smartphone (iPhone/Android) and have access to download a free app to be a part of this event.
When: Thursday 22 January, 2-4pm
Age: 10-15 year olds.
