This August, Knowledge Market has an action packed schedule of workshops and events run by some of Australia’s most inspirational mentors and facilitators.

Anyone living in, working at or visiting Victoria Harbour is welcome to sign up for a workshop and learn new skills, meet new people and share creative thinking and ideas.

Here are some of our favourite upcoming Knowledge Market events during August.

Learn the practice of meditation | Tuesday 9 August, 5.30pm
Escape from the stress of city life with this six-week introduction to meditation. Organised by the mindfulness experts at the Melbourne Meditation Centre, you’ll develop the foundations of simple and effective meditation practice.

As well as learning techniques to help you relax your body and calm your mind, this workshop will give you the foundations to put mindfulness into practice in your everyday life. Booking required.

Enrol with Twitterversity | Wednesday 3 August, 6pm
Have you ever wondered how you could use Twitter to network? Or how it could help you engage in broader conversations when at a conference or event? Learn how you can build an active network on Twitter by leveraging the links between your contacts and goals at Knowledge Market’s Twitterversity.

This workshop, run by social media guru Spendlove and Lamb, will teach you everything from the basics of Twitter right up to building your online persona, who to tweet and what to tweet about. For anyone wanting to up their Twitter game, this workshop is for you! Booking required.

Learn about connection parenting | Saturday 6 August, 9.30am
How do you maintain a strong relationship with your child, but at the same time set the boundaries of acceptable behaviour? Connection parenting is based on respect and communication, rather than punishment and coercion, and emphasises the importance of tantrums as much as laughter when setting limits.

In this two-day workshop, run by NVC Melbourne, you’ll learn find out tricks to help you respond to your child’s needs rather than react to their behaviours. Booking required.
