Australia's most modern library and community hub, the Library at The Dock, will officially open its doors.
The opening event showcases the new library, including the recording studio, performance space, children's library and the digital, music and entertainment collections. An exciting program of activities and entertainment on the day includes: maker space activities including 3D printing demonstrations, children’s entertainment, music production workshops, dance performances and technology activities.
A highlight of the day's programming will be the first Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature Oration, presented by acclaimed author, Arnold Zable, which celebrates Melbourne's status as a UNESCO City of Literature.
The official opening of the Library at the Dock will commence at 10am, with the oration to commence at midday in the performance space.

Visitors to the library will enjoy some of Melbourne’s most spectacular views, across Docklands and the harbour.
Framed by water on one side and parkland on the other, Library at The Dock also hosts a children’s playground, with mature trees and green spaces to relax and play.
The project partners for the event are City of Melbourne, Lend Lease and Places Victoria.
