Join us in Docklands for an Australia Day extravaganza on Sunday 26th January. There will be multiple activities and events across the precint.

For early risers the MS Colour Dash, a 5km fun run will take place from 9am. The MS Colour Dash is all about FUN. It’s non-competitive and all about joining with family and friends to share a crazy morning of colourful fun while also raising money to support Australians living with multiple sclerosis. Celebrations will commence at NewQuay Piazza from 4pm including the Great Aussie Thong Throwing Competition from 5pm-6pm.  Enter here for your chance to win great prizes:

Take part in the free face painting, embrace the Docklands breeze with free kite making and flying and enjoy the entertainment around the Docklands precinct for all-Australian family fun. The Aussie sausage sizzle is supported by the local Victroai Harbour Woolworths and we will also be hosting the official Australia Day fireworks display at 9.30pm.

The Docklands Sunday Market will commence at 12 noon and will continue in the evening until 10pm after the fireworks. Explore the arts, crafts,  jewellery and a variety of other interesting stalls along the NewQuay Promenade. There will be a range of food stalls present especially for Australia Day to complement the myriad of restaurants in Docklands.

The stage program will feature a Nova 100 DJ  spinning the best Aussie tracks, vocalists, percussionists, a didgeridoo player and Chris Humphrey and his team from Wild Action.   The  precinct will come alive with roving performers, balloon artists and magic. The activity zone will  feature bungee trampolines, rock climbing, a pitching tunnel and more. The Nova Casanovas will be on site with games and giveaways, along with Channel 9 giveaways and a social media kiosk.

The U-NITE for Australia Day soccer match is also at Etihad Stadium at 5pm, where Melbourne Victory host Sydney FC.  Tickets available through Ticketmaster.

To celebrate Australia Day in Docklands, catch the free City Circle tram, $5 Visitor Shuttle Bus, Tram 70 via Flinders Street, 48 via Collins Street or 86 via Bourke Street or take advantage of more than 5000 car parking spaces available.

Note: To facilitate Australia Day Fireworks, Parks Victoria will enforce an exclusion zone within the harbour from 8:30 pm until 10:30 pm.   The exclusion zone will close the harbour to all vessels during these times.  For information about booking a berth to watch the fireworks, contact the Melbourne City Marina on 03 9658 8738.
