A summer evening well spent in Victoria Harbour

16 January 2019
Victoria Harbour is full of events and activities to help you make the most of waterfront living on a summer evening.

Park Cinema
Every summer, Victoria Harbour’s Buluk Park transforms into a free outdoor cinema event for the whole family to enjoy. Beginning on Friday 8 February, this year’s Park Cinema line-up includes Labyrinth, My Best Friend’s Wedding and Bride and Prejudice. All you need to do is purchase your movie snacks from our nearby retailers, BYO drinks and blankets and it’s showtime! Last season’s screenings were snapped up in record time, so make sure you get your tickets via Eventbrite before each session fills up. Stay tuned for our two March feature films which will be announced on our social channels in February.

Kayak Melbourne
One of the best things about summer is being out on the water. Make the most of the warm weather and journey down the Yarra River, taking in the city skyline from a whole new perspective. A best seller, the Moonlight Kayak tour, is a great way for people to experience Melbourne’s waterways and watch the sun set over the river with the help of a local guide. The 2.5 hour trip departs from Victoria Harbour at 6.45pm, five days a week. Tours are $99 per person and include a special fish and chip dining experience from your kayak in the water.

Lady Cutler Melbourne Showboat
Have you ever been on board Lady Cutler? It’s a luxury Melbourne showboat originally built in 1968. The Lady Cutler is in its 10th year of cruising along Melbourne’s iconic rivers and bays, and now calls Central Pier, Docklands home. If your idea of a weekend well spent involves a champagne and seafood brunch cruise, check out their list of upcoming events. From an Australia Day Cruise to a Valentine’s Day Dining Experience, there’s something nautical for everyone to enjoy this summer.

Experience Docklands
Spend a day out in Docklands and experience some of its new food and entertainment destinations with these summer offers available from 5 – 21 February 2019. Whether you’re in the mood for champagne flights on the Melbourne Star or enjoying a Victoria Harbour dining package with Merchant Society and TAP831, each package will help you explore the entertainment precinct and try something new this summer.

Long weekend fireworks
Light up your long weekend with a spectacular display of fireworks along the Harbour Esplanade. Beginning at 6pm on Saturday 26 January, enjoy a series of festivities sure to keep the whole family entertained with roaming artists, live entertainment, craft markets and food from local retailers specially curated as part of a Great Australian Bites concept. Sponsored by City of Melbourne, the fireworks will light up the sky at 9pm, giving you an incredible view of the celebrations after dark. Find out more here.

There is no shortage of things to do on a warm summer evening in Victoria Harbour – make the most of the long summer days on the waterfront.
