Building Description: Achieving an Australian first by receiving 6 Star ratings across all three areas of Green Star certification, The Gauge was designed to be a statement building, demonstrating that a commercial building with the highest environmental accreditations.The first two levels of this 6-storey commercial development have been leased by Lend Lease as its new Victorian headquarters, with the remaining 4 floors housing Fujitsu's Melbourne Head Office.

Achieving a 6-Star Green Star Office - across all three areas of certification: Office Design, As Built and Interiors, the Gauge building demonstrates that a commercial building with the highest environmental accreditations can be delivered at a competitive commercial rate.

Illustrating the benefits of sustainable building while still remaining competitive at construction costs. With a premium location commercial tenants can leave their cars at home, and enjoy the abundance of public transport options at their doorstep.

The Gauge will shift the baseline on the environment and will encourage more tenants and investors to examine higher environmentally rated buildings.

The first building in Docklands to achieve Places Victoria’s ESD Award of Excellence, signifying World’s Best Practice in Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD).

Architectural notes on the project include:

  • Water efficient technologies including cooling tower control systems that limit water wastage, high efficiency fixtures and fittings in toilet facilities, and a fire tank system that enables collection and reuse of fire system water.
  • Onsite black water sewage treatment system recycling 92% of water used on site each year.
  • Energy efficient implementations to recede greenhouse gas emissions by over 30%
